Radio Interview: Hope & Peace Camps for a better Syria through eyes of its children
Syrian children are the most affected victims in the recent conflict. They have lost their homes, their friends, their schools and many have lost family members. On a recent visit to Turkish and Jordanian Refugee camps and a Syrian IDP camp, CRDC’s Executive Director, Aziz Abu Sarah, and Program Officer for Syria, Nousha Kabawat, noticed the lack of educational resources and activities available to the children. Many of the children that they met under the age of 8 could not read or write.
Today half of all registered Syrian refugees are children. Kabawat and Abu Sarah have determined that there is an urgent need for intervention on their behalf. Many of the children in camps have limited or no access to education, therapy or any recreational activities.
